Nexus 7 2013 specs updation and model cover photo

The past few days has been  quite exciting for the Nexus 7 lovers and fans. The leaks confirming the specs and the photos of the form and size of the new model has been reported in the Nexus7HD . The Android Event by Google on 24th June 2013 , Wednesday is expected to be also the announcement of the next gen Nexus 7.  The leaks from the Office-max inventory list also confirming the release of the Nexus 7 in the near future.

The Nexus 7 second generation rumors has been circling around the web for last few months and was expected to be unveiled in the annual developers event of Google, Google I/O. but there was no news from Google regarding the the Nexus 7 device or the Android 4.3 update. While the FCC, and the Bluetooth SIG certifications along with the spilling of beans by the ASUS customer rep during a support session had started the fans to again dream about their new Nexus 7 and hope for much better specifications.

The new information about the Nexus has been wonderful.

4 GB RAM

The earlier specifications had been  confirming that the New Nexus 7 will be seeing an upgrade from the earlier 1GB RAM to 2GB RAM. The earlier 1GB RAM itself was performing as expected in high resolution games like Need For Speed- Most Wanted mobile version and was giving a great user -experience, feel and fun to the user. Most of the users who gave reviews about the Nexus 7 had mentioned about the speed and clarity of the Nexus 7 while gaming.

Now after the new photo leaks of the Nexus 7 has released the data pertaining to the memory capacity of the device has been upgraded to a new number. The tag of the Next Nexus 7 if carefully scrutinized shows that the Nexus 7 is not 2GB RAM device but 4GB.

If you can carefully scrutinize the Memory specifications it is written as DDRLM 1600  "256M * 16" i.e. 16 times 256 MB which equals to 4096 MB which is 4GB ....

So it turns out that the new Nexus 7 will be a 4GB device.

Wireless charging

The New Nexus 7 is expected to be having a new feature for charging the device wireless.
We are not sure whether this feature is only a Nexus 7 feature or will be inherent with all devices having the Android JellyBean 4.3

The addition of Android 4.3 JellyBean to the Nexus 7 is also confirmed with the new leaks.

Nexus 7 and Android is adopting Wireless charging following Nokia which was the first brand to introduce this feature. Wireless charging has not proven much better than the normal charging, it takes too much time for charging the device also. Even then the feature is much appealing to say along with the other extra features added to the device.

The @evleaks has meanwhile released a model cover photo that will be used for marketing purposes by Google .

The much anticipated Google Nexus 7 HD or whatever that Google is gonna name it, is on the way.

Late July, that's when the Nexus 7 2013 is expected

We have been hearing rumors about the release of the Nexus 7 HD for past couple of months.

The expectation was it to be announced with the Moto X phone. But it seems like the Moto X is scheduled to release in August

Lot of sites have estimated a late release of the tablet on July. A Taiwanese website also has reported that the Nexus 7 2 will be releasing in Taiwan by the end of July for $299. According to the market experts the Nexus 7 2 will be able to ship as many as 8 million devices in 2013.

The Android Community has analysed a mid-summer release of the Nexus 7 2, since the market will be flooded with new tablet releases at that time and it would be a good time to welcome the tablet with the rest of them.

Meanwhile, the Fuhrer seems to be pissed off by the inaccurate details regarding the release of the Nexus 7 2. Check this out.

Nexus 7 2013 , Should I be waiting or go with Nexus 7 ?

It seems a very cheesy line for the title of this post.

There has been a lot of posts going around the release of the Nexus 7 2 to be releasing soon. The posts about the specifications of the New Nexus 7 has been brewing up nearing to the Annual Developer's Google I/O 2013. But after no announcement regarding the release of the next Nexus 7 2nd generation , developers and fans got pretty depressed.  Below is a graph showing the search trends regarding the release of the Next Generation Google Nexus 7.

Is the hype worth the wait ?

This is the question that we have asked a several times a day for the past few months after the rumors about the Nexus  7 2nd Generation started since and before the annual developer event of Google, Google I/O , this year.

For about three months the hype around the Google Nexus 7 2, Nexus 7 HD, Nexus 7 Next Generation, whatever it may be has been circling around the web. Along with Nexus 7, the rumors about next Google phone the Nexus 5, the new form factor for communication  Google Glass, the next Android major release "Key Lime Pie" has made us all, the customers, the technologists, the android lovers, go haywire about what to buy.

The Apple Developer event WWDC 2013 seemed to be a big breakout of news about the Ipad mini 2, an Apple smart watch (maybe the iWatch), Iphone 5 S along with the announcement of the beautiful and colorful iOS 7

All these seem to be tempting, confusing , frustrating and doubting events which made the life of us common people miserable. The decision to buy a phone/tablet couldn't have led you to more trouble after reading all the reviews and updates about the new models in the market.

Hard-core Android fans tried switching camps to Apple and iOS after the "iOS7" release. An apple made even Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. Android fans started to switch because of the lagging and battery draining caused by the JellyBean 4.2 update.

Maybe its time to step back and view the situation from a different perspective.

There was a time when we used to admire the Nokia and Blackberry phones and the old flip-open phones. When we used to worry how long will this keypad last after the long hours of gaming and speed typing our girl/boy friends.

When every mobile device is nearing release the rumors gets more frequent and hotter.
The customers wait all night, in the cold winds for getting their new Iphone on the first day the store starts selling them. After few months the cold wind blows, this time it will be when we start to dump the 3-month old ones for the new ones.

We all being ardent fans and careful admirers of the Nexus 7, have been waiting for the Nexus 7 HD to release maybe by the end of July. But the question still remains, Will it be worth the hype? The answer is not yet to be answered and we are waiting...

Nexus 7 2013 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 8

VS

The Nexus 7 2013 will be battling against some tablets already in the market from Samsung, Asus, HP and Apple. Although the quality and price comes a bit different with Nexus and the full Android support provided by Google exclusively for Nexus devices.

Today we are going to compare the Nexus 7 2013 with the Galaxy Note 8 N5100

Processor

Galaxy Note 8 - Samsung Exynos Quad 4412

Nexus 7 2 - Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro

The best site for comparing the processors will be CPUBoss. The site gives better rating for the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (8.8/10) compared to the Samsung Exynos Quad 4412 (8.4/10) . But the CPUBoss gives a better rating for the Exynos Quad based GPU, features, performance and browsing experience. The Exynos has the Mali 400 GPU and the Snapdragon S4 Pro has the Adreno 320 GPU. The gaming experience for both of them finds to be same. But the Adreno 320 which was the same GPU in the Nexus 7 has given a better gaming experience compared to Galaxy Note 2 and Note 10.1 So we can expect a better gaming experience in Nexus 7 2013 compared to Note 8.

Winner- Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro

Battery

Galaxy Note 8 - 23Wh

Nexus 7 2 - 15Wh

We have got a clear winner for battery power - Galaxy Note 8

Display

The Nexus 7 2013 is going to feature a HD display compared to the Galaxy Note 8. Nexus 7 2013 compared to its predecessor will have a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch(ppi) compared to its predecessor which has 216 ppi. While the Galaxy Note 8 has a pixel density of 189 ppi.
The differences in the pixel density would have not been a great matter of fact if both were of different form factors and sizes, instead they would have been of no significance. But both the Nexus 7 2013 and the Galaxy Note 8 are of the same size, so the ppi is really a judgmental factor, which also gives Nexus 7 2013 a upper hand.  We think that the Nexus 7 2013 will be having a better display compared to the Note 8 and the Snapdragon 600 with Adreno GPU will be able to give the display more life and speed.

Resolution of Galaxy Note 8 - 1280x800
Resolution of Nexus 7 2013 - 1920x1200

We have a clear winner !

Winner - Nexus 7 2013

Internal Memory / RAM

Both the Nexus 7 2013 and the Galaxy Note 8 has a 2GB RAM. They both house the best processors in the market so the memory requirement will also be a minimum of 2GB for them to perform as they are expected to.

Winner - Tied

Price

According to Best Buy, you can get a Galaxy Note 8 16GB at $329.99 after a $70 discount. (Actual Price - $399.99).

While in the case of a Nexus 7 2013 16GB costs just $229.99 and 32GB will cost $269.99 and you can buy an Unlocked LTE version of the 32GB Nexus 7 2013 for $349.99 from Best Buy.

Winner - Nexus 7 2013

Pros and Cons of Nexus 7 2013

Pros

Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor - Best processor for a tablet which gives you performance and power optimization

Adreno 320 GPU - Best GPU on tablets, fast and high performing.

Front and rear cameras

LTE Support on cellular models

High quality display with 323 ppi, highest among all the 7 and 10 inch tablets.

Cons

Thinner bezel which might give less space for holding without touching the screen. Less battery power.

Pros and cons of Galaxy Note 8

Pros

Has a stylus which helps in writing and drawing figures Better battery power Has calling facility.

Cons

Too large sized for a tablet with calling facility.

Each tablet , Nexus 7 2013 and Galaxy Note 8 seems too have its own wonderful and bad features. Both seems to be good buy. But in the case of price the Nexus 7 will be very cheap with all its great features of a Hi-Fi tablet. The only good think in Galaxy Note 8 is , it has calling facility and as we know, calling someone with your tablet makes you feel like this

So I think the winner is - Nexus 7 2013

Will it really be the Nexus 7 HD ?

There is lot of rumors about the much anticipated Nexus 7 expected to be releasing late July or early August as mentioned by many sources. There has been leaks from the FCC website regarding the new Nexus 7 2nd generation
2nd Generation Nexus 7 Stops By FCC
and the Bluetooth SIG certifications
Bluetooth SIG data suggests a new Nexus 7 is coming soon after all
that there is a new 7-inch tablet coming on the way from ASUS.

Nexus 7 2 FCC details

While all this rumours are going around about the new Nexus tablet, there is still a doubt regarding the name about the name of the device. The most anticipated names are Nexus 7 2, Nexus 7 HD, Nexus 7 2nd Generation, Nexus 7.2, Nexus 7 version 2 etc..

But are these the names which Google is going with ??? It is totally a Big NO!

If you look into the naming of the Nexus smartphones, we can see that each device had a unique name each pertaining to the unique quality of the phone. The Nexus One, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus , Nexus 4 and the most anticipating Nexus 5. This can give much insight into the importance that Google has shown in naming each of its creation in a unique way.
The names which Google might be using for the new Nexus 7 can be like : Nexus 7 S, Nexus 7 Pro or the Nexus 8 , if its going to be 8-inch.

Or maybe Google is going to name it like Nexus 7 Reloaded, or Nexus 7 Big Daddy.. :)
Well that's gonna face some serious copyright infringement.

Anyway the new Nexus 7 will see big changes even in the naming as anticipated by the media.

Nexus 7 2013 price ranging from $229

There can be a slight change from the earlier price mentioned on this blog about the pricing range of the Nexus 7. Now more news are coming out about Nexus 7 2nd Gen from the Google about the pricing. Since the Nexus 7 2nd generation is not going to have the 8GB version as its earlier version. The Nexus 7 2nd generation will be selling from the 16GB to the 64GB version.

Not much change in price

The earlier Nexus 7 was priced $229 for the 32GB version and the 16GB was priced at around $199. The new Nexus 7 2nd generation is expected to be staring to be available from $229, pretty much cheap as its predecessor.

With a lot of new upgrades and features arriving to the Nexus 7 HD or the Nexus 7 2nd Generation, the new Nexus 7 has been priced pretty cheap. Well that's what you get the when you buy a Google phone from  made by ASUS.

Nexus 7 HD Specs from all the rumors

Rumors are there confirming the next update to Nexus 7. Its been since a year after the Nexus 7 the first and best, flagship 7-inch tablet computer was released under the Nexus brand by Google.
After a lots of appreciations and criticisms about the first born, Google is expected to release the sibling of the Nexus 7 with a lot of changes.

Power Saving Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor

The New Nexus 7 will be replaced by  the earlier Nvidia Tegra 3 processor of clocking 1.2 Ghz with a much power saving  Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 clocked at 1.5GHz. Nvidia Tegra 3 was the perfect match for the first model, but after the Jelly Bean 4.2 update Google and Android has been facing lot of complaints regarding the power drainage and performance lacking in the Nexus 7 after a few months of its inception. Maybe this has led to the switch from the performance master to the the power saver, and much cheaper processor.

The Best Display got even Better

Since it is the HD version which is expected to be releasing the resolution is going to see a major change from the earlier 720p to 1020p , which cannot be found in many of the 7 inch tablets that are in market at this price range. The earlier version of the Nexus 7 had a 216 ppi pixel density, which was the highest among all the 7-inch tablets.  The rise in the pixel density to 323 ppi will give even more clarity and a better user experience.

5MP Back camera

The earlier version had been booed by the iPad mini fans for not having a back camera. But Google well received it by justification of having high-quality video chat front facing camera and " whose gonna take photos on their tablet " argument. Wait for it.... The Nexus 7 HD has a 5MP back camera and the recent FCC docs approving Nexus 7 similar tablet from Asus gives us more than a peek into the new version of the Nexus 7.

Nexus 7 2 FCC Specifications

JellyBean 4.3

After the not so good comments and reviews of the Jelly Bean 4.2 update which has ruined the Android's life by power drainage, many are expecting a JellyBean 4.3 update to be released along with the Nexus 7 HD.

LTE enabled in cellular versions

The new Nexus 7 will be having LTE support for its cellular versions as perceived from the data of FCC. Being a major player in developing 4G or 3.9 G to be correct, Qualcomm might be coming up with LTE support for the cellular versions of the New Nexus 7.

Its expected to be having a storage capacity from 16GB to 64GB. Nexus 7 had a 8GB model which was later discontinued.

RAM might be increased from 1 GB to 2GB compared to the earlier version of the Nexus 7. The increase of the RAM to 2GB can prove a great help to the hard-core gamers and for HD video support that the new version is going to have.

Looking at all this, we feel that the new Nexus 7 is going to another wonder kid like its elder one.

Now we have to only hear these exact words from Hugo Barra
" and all these fantastic features will be available from today onwards, starting at only $199...
who hopefully is gonna launch it.

But wait what about the launch dates. That is yet to be confirmed by some reliable sources. As per the Reuters, there is new Nexus 7 is expected to be releasing in July.Google to sell second-gen Nexus 7 tablet from July: sources

The Photo of Nexus 7 circling around

All of us are very excited to see the that the Nexus 7 upgrade is going to announced by Google sooner or later as the New Nexus 7, Nexus 7 2, Nexus 7 version 2, Nexus 7 HD, Nexus 7 2nd Generation  or whatever names that can be similar or not.

While the Nexus 7 users and enthusiasts are waiting for the launch dates. Here is a picture of the future Nexus which has been circling around.

Nexus 7 2 Leaked photo

There is nothing much which can be deduced from the picture.
The bezel size looks pretty much the same as the Nexus 7. That looks pretty much contrasting since the display of the Nexus 7 2nd generation can be a better HD tablet with a bigger display and a thinner bezel. while there is a drawback with the thinner bezel, it give less area to hold on the screen.

We are yet not sure whether this is the One, or the real One is still in the darkness.
